Foaling News

Three foals were born at Wollumbin in 2009.  Following of the loss of our treasured stallion Jaytee High n Mighty in 2008, all our 2009 babies were sired by outside stallions.   All three are colts, and all are stylish little fellows that are growing into lovely young horses.

Competition News

We are proud of our lovely young stallion Jaytee Just A Lawbreaker who made his halter debut in 2009, and is now an A class Champion.   We look forward to building on this in coming years, both at halter and under saddle.

Our beautiful 2yr old filly Wollumbin Soleil added to her success in 2009, taking out a number of A Class awards including wins and Championships at Brisbane Royal, Gold Coast Show, The Premier Show & Crabbet related filly at Top of The Range and the Summer Show.

Wollumbin Akhhu is a yearling gelding, shown at halter 5 times in 2009 for 5 wins and 4 Championship awards.

In 2009 Wollumbin Farah added some more A Class wins and Championships to her impressive results list, including at The Premier Show and the North Coast National, where she was Supreme Arabian Exhibit for the second year in a row.

Our young part-bred mare Wollumbin Tali made her public debut in 2009 winning an A class Championship at halter at the Premier Show in October, and a few weeks later placed in her first outing under saddle, gaining a 2nd and a 3rd at a local dressage day in open company.

On the Endurance Track

On 13/14 March this year at the Copmanhurst Endurance Ride in Northern New South Wales, Wollumbin Arabians was high on the winners list in a very competitive field.   In the 80k ride on Saturday, Peter riding Wollumbin Farah (Jaytee High n Mighty x Wollumbin Cooloola) was =1st across the line, 1st Heavy Weight and Best Conditioned while Peter Kelly’s gelding Shellfyre (Roseanna Sharmale x Wollumbin Schellie) was 2nd Middle Weight.   In the 80k ride on Sunday Jason Kirk’s Wollumbin Faiz (Jaytee High n Mighty x Wollumbin Schellie) was 1st across the line, 1st Middle Weight and Best Conditioned, while Peter riding Wollumbin Rafiq (Jaytee High n Mighty x G. Halawi) was 1st Heavy Weight and Best Conditioned.   As breeders, these were exciting results for us!

Exported grey gelding Wollumbin Sambuca (Roseanna Sharmale x Wollumbin Cooloola) has been successful internationally at many FEI rides, one notable win being the National Day Cup in Qatar in 2008 with Aussie rider Jason Kirk.

In mid-2010 Wollumbin Faiz was sold to the Middle East and will join Wollumbin Sambuca in flying the Wollumbin prefix internationally.

(Jaytee High N Mighty x Eastern Park Pizzaz)

Exported to the UAE June 2010

We are proud to announce that Shai has been sold to the UAE to join Wollumbin Sambuca and Wollumbin Faiz in flying the flag for our small stud on the international FEI Endurance circuit.

This handsome gelding enjoyed a very successful halter career on home soil.   He has also been an extremely useful saddle horse for us, enthusiastically embracing whatever we asked of him, and we will miss him.

A New Acquisition

We are delighted to announce that Wollumbin Arabians has recently acquired Ramadan Fairy Queen (Makers Mark x Arabian Kadin) from our friend and fellow breeder Karen Hodges of Ramadan Arabians.

She is a full sibling to Karen’s very successful show mare Ramadan Dream Maker.  FQ as she is affectionately known will provide another quality out cross for our stud, although she may have a performance career before she joins the brood mares.
